these most excellent birds are handmade in Takayama, a historically preserved town in northern Japapn. their beautiful details are block printed on linen and each bird is stuffed with rice husks. 

happy to perch atop a stack of books or another prize place at home. smaler birds (all except duck) have hanging thread.
